Privacy Policy

Overview

MediAI is a health information assistant that prioritizes your privacy. This policy explains how we handle your data when you use the MediAI web application. MediAI does not create user accounts, does not track you across devices or sessions, and does not link any data to your personal identity.

The web application stores all health data exclusively in your browser using browser-native storage (localStorage and IndexedDB). No health data is transmitted to or stored on our servers.

Data We Collect and How It Is Used

The following types of data are involved when you use MediAI:

• Chat messages and health questions: Transmitted to our AI processing service (Groq) to generate responses. Not retained after processing. Not linked to your identity.
• Images (lab results, prescriptions, medication labels, supplement labels): Transmitted to our AI vision service (Groq) for real-time analysis. Not stored after processing. Not linked to your identity.
• Email address (optional): If you voluntarily sign up for product updates on the landing page, your email address is stored on our server solely to send you occasional product announcements. You may request deletion at any time by emailing privacy@intelivia.com. We do not sell or share email addresses with third parties.
• All other health data (chat history, medical profile, health preferences): Stored exclusively in your browser using localStorage and IndexedDB. Never transmitted to any server.

Browser-Local Data Storage

All personal health data is stored exclusively in your browser. This includes:

• Chat conversations and history
• Medical profile (conditions, medications, allergies)
• App preferences and settings
• Language selection

This data never leaves your browser unless you explicitly choose to export it (JSON export) or send a message to the AI assistant. Clearing your browser data or using a different browser will remove this data.

AI Data Processing

When you send a message or image to MediAI, it is transmitted over an encrypted connection to our AI processing infrastructure for the sole purpose of generating a response. Specifically:

• Groq API (AI language and vision processing): Messages and images are processed in real-time. Groq operates a zero data retention policy — request data is not stored, logged, or used for model training after processing completes. No user identifiers are included in requests sent to Groq. • Pinecone (medical knowledge retrieval): Used to retrieve relevant health education content from a pre-built medical knowledge base. Your queries are used only to find matching content and are not stored. No user data is indexed in Pinecone.

We do not retain any data on our own servers after a response is delivered. Our backend infrastructure serves only as a secure relay between your browser and these AI services.

Image Analysis

When you use the image analysis feature (lab results, prescriptions, medication labels, or supplement labels), your image is transmitted securely to Groq's AI vision model for real-time analysis. The image is not stored on any server after processing. Analysis results are displayed in your browser and stored only locally as part of your chat history.

Email Subscriptions

The MediAI landing page offers an optional email sign-up for product updates and feature announcements. If you choose to subscribe:

• Your email address is stored in a secure database hosted on Railway.
• It is used only to send MediAI product updates — no marketing from third parties.
• We do not sell, rent, or share your email address.
• You can request deletion at any time by emailing privacy@intelivia.com.

Email sign-up is entirely optional. MediAI's health features work fully without providing an email address.

Cookies and Tracking

MediAI does not use cookies for tracking or advertising. The only browser storage used is localStorage and IndexedDB for storing your health data locally on your device. No third-party analytics, advertising pixels, or tracking scripts are present on this web application.

Your Rights

You have full control over your data at all times:

• Delete all health data: Go to Settings > Data & Privacy > Clear All Data to permanently remove all locally stored health data from your browser.
• Export your data: Go to Settings > Data & Privacy > Export My Data to download a JSON backup of all your stored data.
• Import data: Restore a previous export on any browser via Settings > Import Data.
• Delete your email: Email privacy@intelivia.com to remove your email address from our subscriber list.
• No account required: MediAI does not create user accounts. There is no account data to manage or delete.

HIPAA Disclaimer

MediAI is not a HIPAA-covered entity. This application provides health information for educational purposes only and does not constitute medical advice, diagnosis, or treatment. MediAI is not a substitute for professional medical advice from a qualified healthcare provider.

Children's Privacy

MediAI is not intended for use by children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect or store any information from children under 13. If you are a parent or guardian and believe your child has used MediAI, please note that all health data is stored locally in the browser and can be deleted from Settings.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this privacy policy from time to time. Any changes will be reflected with an updated "Last updated" date at the top of this page.
